The sample Room, Lockdown at Blackridge, is a ready-made Room for practice games. It appears in All Rooms the first time an Owner opens it with no Rooms, with a Sample label beside its name.

What the sample Room includes

  • A 60-minute game with three Puzzles and their Clues, covering about the first 15 minutes.
  • A Live View with a short Video Brief, a soundtrack, and Escaped and Time’s up screens.
  • Two Room Automations: a message to players when 10 minutes are left, and a Fire alarm button on the Room Dashboard.
  • A Game Master profile to pick when you start.
Games played in the sample Room stay out of Analytics and Leaderboards. You can edit it like any other Room, or delete it once you’ve built your own.

Take the Room Dashboard tour

The first time an Owner or Manager opens the sample Room’s Room Dashboard, Escape Director offers a short tour. Each step waits for you to do the real thing: pick a Game Master, open Live View, start the clock, add time, send a Clue, then end the game. At the end, the tour opens the save form so you can see what to fill in after a real game. There’s no need to save the practice game; select Cancel to go on.

Replay the tour to train a Game Master

On any Room Dashboard, select Help → Show me around. It’s available whenever no game is running, including on a Room Station.

Add the sample Room again

If you deleted the sample Room and have no Rooms left, select Add the sample Room on the empty All Rooms page. An account has only one sample Room at a time.
