# Add Managers and Room Stations

> Give Managers their own login, and let the computers that run your Rooms sign in on their own as Room Stations.

Managers are people who help run your business with their own login. A Room
Station can sign in on its own, so nobody types a password on the computer that
runs a Room. The owner manages both in **Account Settings → Team**. Only the
owner sees this page.

## Invite a Manager

1. Select **Invite Manager** and enter their email address.
2. Choose what else they can use. Every Manager can run Rooms, manage Game
Master Profiles and set up Room Stations.
3. If you have more than one Location, choose **Every Location, including new
ones**, or **Only these Locations** and pick them.
4. Select **Send invite**. They get a link to set a password. It works for 7
days; select **Resend invite** if it runs out.

Managers cost nothing extra. To change what a Manager can use, select **Edit
access**. To take it away, select **Remove from team**. Either change applies
right away. Your Rooms and past games don't change.

| Access | What the Manager gets |
| - | - |
| **Analytics** | The Analytics page and its assistant. |
| **Game history** | Room Statistics, with past games, corrections and imports. |
| **Room editing** | Rooms, media, Automations, Devices and Leaderboard settings. |

A Manager limited to some Locations sees only those Locations' Rooms, games and
Analytics. Leaderboard settings and the Analytics assistant cover every
Location, so they need **Every Location**. Membership, billing, Locations, the
Team page and Beta features always stay with the owner.

## Set up a Room Station

1. On the computer that runs the Room, select **Get a code** on the sign-in
page, or open `escapedirector.com/station-setup`. It shows a short code that
   works for 10 minutes.
2. On your phone, sign in as the owner or a Manager and open
   `escapedirector.com/station`.
3. Enter the code, then choose the Location and a name, such as `The Vault`.
   Select **Approve**.

The computer then signs in on its own as a Room Station and opens its Rooms.
Managers can approve Room Stations only for their own Locations.

## What a Room Station can do

A Room Station starts locked. Locked, it runs games and shows Leaderboards for
its one Location, and nothing else. The header shows a lock, and the bottom of
the side menu says **Room Station · Locked**.

To do more on it, select **Unlock**, choose your name and type your own
password. It then works like your own login, with your pages, your Locations
and your access. It locks again when you select **Lock now**, or once nobody
has used it for 15 minutes. The owner can change that time with **Lock when
idle** on the Team page, or choose **Only with Lock now** so it stays unlocked
until someone locks it. Games keep running while it locks and unlocks.

| | Owner | Manager | Locked Room Station | Unlocked Room Station |
| - | - | - | - | - |
| Run games | Every Location | Their Locations | Its Location | Same as the person who unlocked it |
| Analytics, game history, Room editing | Yes | When given | No | Same as the person who unlocked it |
| Locations, Team, Beta features | Yes | No | No | When the owner unlocked it |
| Billing | Yes | No | No | No |
| Profile and Security | Yes | Yes | No | No |

Profile, Security, Membership and deleting the account stay closed on a Room
Station, even when it's unlocked. The station keeps its own sign-in so games
keep running, so change these on your own phone or computer.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Unlocking needs an internet connection. Games still run offline as usual. If
> you sign in only with Google, set a password in **Account Settings → Security**
> on your own device before you unlock a Room Station.

## Stop using a computer as a Room Station

* **On the computer itself:** unlock it, then select **Sign in as yourself**
from a closed page such as **Profile**. Room Station mode ends and the sign-in
page opens. This waits until no game is running and every finished game has
  been saved.
* **From anywhere:** in **Account Settings → Team**, select **Remove** beside
the Room Station. It signs out at once. The row for the computer you're on
  says **(this computer)**.

To use that computer as a Room Station again, set it up with a new code.
